Why replacements here rarely wait for a convenient month

Systems in Ormond Beach do not fail on a mild day in April. They fail in the stretch from late June to September when the dew point lives in the 70s and the equipment has been running nearly nonstop for weeks. A 1980s Woodmere unit on its second compressor, a Tymber Creek system installed when the subdivision was new, a beachside condenser whose coil has finally rusted through: these quit when they are working hardest, and the household has days, not months, to decide.

Financing is the tool that keeps that decision from being made badly. Without it, people patch a system that should be retired, or buy the cheapest unit that fits the hole rather than the one that fits the house.

How a payment plan works at Cook’s

New high-efficiency systems can be financed through Cook’s with a manageable monthly figure. The application is handled alongside the estimate, approval tends to be quick, and once it’s in place the install goes on the calendar like any other job. You pay the plan, not us, over time.

What we will not do on this page is name a lender, quote a rate or promise a term. Those details come from the finance company and they change. Jerry will walk you through the current options at the kitchen table, in writing.

What happened to the federal tax credit

There isn’t one anymore for new equipment. Heat pumps and air conditioners that cleared the federal thresholds earned a credit when you filed, right up to the cutoff: equipment placed in service after December 31, 2025 earns nothing. If your system went in before that, we can still give you the documentation your preparer needs. For a system quoted now, the savings are the two below.

FPL rebates and the Peoples Gas angle

Ormond Beach is Florida Power & Light territory, and FPL’s residential HVAC program knocks an instant rebate off qualifying high-efficiency cooling equipment when a participating contractor installs it. FPL also offers a free home energy survey and separate rebates on insulation and duct work, which are worth doing in the same season as a replacement on an older Trails or Tomoka Oaks house with leaky attic runs.

Peoples Gas serves parts of the city too. Their rebates are for water heaters, not air conditioning, but if you are already considering a gas furnace for the few cold January nights, it belongs in the same conversation.

Three things that pull the monthly figure down

  1. Sizing the system to the house instead of the old nameplate; smaller, correctly matched equipment costs less and runs longer.
  2. Taking the FPL rebate on a qualifying high-efficiency install.
  3. Fixing the ductwork and the return once, during the install, so the new system isn’t paying for the old house’s leaks.

Ask about financing

Financing questions from Ormond Beach

Can I finance a replacement on a rental I own in Ormond-by-the-Sea?

Ask us when you call. Financing applications look at the person signing, not the house, but second homes and rentals sometimes need a different form. We’ll tell you up front rather than after the install.

Do you handle the FPL rebate paperwork, or do I?

It depends on who installs. The FPL residential HVAC rebate depends on the equipment’s efficiency rating and on the contractor’s standing with the program, so ask where Cook’s stands when you call [[CONFIRM WITH JERRY]]; an enrolled contractor completes its side of the submission, and the homeowner signs.

Is financing only available on Lennox equipment?

Financing is for new high-efficiency systems we install, and as a Lennox dealer that is usually what we quote. If a different brand makes more sense for your house, say so and we’ll discuss what can be financed.

My system was ruined by Milton's flooding. Does that change how financing works?

Not the financing itself, but it changes the order of operations. Talk to your insurer first, get our written assessment of the damage, and then we’ll structure the payment around whatever the claim does or doesn’t cover.
