Techs who know the Granada Bridge traffic wanted
Family company, Lennox dealer, real dispatch. We're adding people to the trucks that cover Ormond Beach and the towns west of it.

Openings
Cook’s Air Conditioning & Heating Specialists is hiring for four roles: service technicians, install technicians, a maintenance tech manager, and apprenticeship helpers. The Ormond Beach and west Volusia territory is a growing part of the schedule, and that growth is why these positions exist.
A day on the Ormond Beach run
The van leaves 37 Fairmont Ln in Palm Coast. First stop might be a no-cool in Hunter’s Ridge, which is barely across the county line. Then east on SR 40 for a tune-up in Tymber Creek, a coil swap in a 1960s Tomoka Oaks ranch where the air handler lives in a hall closet, and, if dispatch has done its job, a beachside call in Ormond-by-the-Sea before the bridge traffic builds. West-county days are different: long, quiet drives out SR 40 to Barberville or up US 17 to Pierson, where the houses are on wells and the condensate lines tell the story.
Nobody runs a route alone for long. Dispatch groups the calls, the parts you need are on the truck, and a lead tech is a phone call away.
What the houses teach you
Ormond Beach is an education in one town. Mid-century cottages in Ellinor Village with no return air. Original 1977 ductwork in The Trails. Builder-grade equipment from the 1990s in Breakaway Trails and Woodmere reaching the end. Salt-eaten condensers on the river and the dune. Flood-stand installs on streets Ian and Milton visited. Big, zoned two-story houses in Plantation Bay. A technician who has spent a year on this route can diagnose almost anything, anywhere.

Who does well here
People who like explaining things, because a third of this city is over 65 and most customers want to understand the repair, not just pay for it. People who can work in a hot attic in July and still be polite at the door. People who notice the condenser is sitting in a drip line under an oak and say something about it. Experience with Lennox equipment helps; a clean driving record and a willingness to learn help more.
Getting in touch
There is no online portal to fight with. Call the office at 866-266-5709 or email support@cooksair.com with a short history of where you’ve worked, what certifications you hold, and which role you’re after. Jerry reads them himself.
Working the Ormond Beach run
Do I need to live in Ormond Beach to work the route?
No. The shop is in Palm Coast and the Ormond Beach route starts there, so anyone within reach of Fairmont Lane works. Living in Volusia can be an advantage for early calls, and we’ll talk about that at the interview.
Can I start as a helper with no HVAC schooling?
Yes. Apprenticeship helpers are one of the four roles we hire for. You start on install crews, learn the trade from the technicians, and move up as you earn it.
What does the drive actually look like for a technician?
A morning down I-95 or Old Dixie, then a day of calls grouped by neighborhood so you aren’t crossing the Granada Bridge four times. Dispatch builds the route; you build the relationships.
