How the coverage works from Fairmont Lane

Every Ormond Beach call starts at Cook’s headquarters in Palm Coast. The core of the city is 26 miles and about 38 minutes away on I-95 and SR 40. The gated communities straddling the county line, Hunter’s Ridge, Plantation Bay and Halifax Plantation, are closer. The beachside adds the bridge. West Volusia adds real distance, so dispatch batches those calls and schedules them as routes rather than one-offs. Whatever the address, you get the same answer on the phone: the drive as it actually is, and a window we intend to keep.

The four kinds of Ormond Beach

Beachside and Ormond-by-the-Sea. A1A cottages, condos and estate homes from Coquina Key north, where salt and dune erosion set the terms for every piece of equipment.

The old mainland. Ellinor Village, Rio Vista, Ormond Terrace, Tomoka Oaks and The Trails, mid-century and 1970s houses on low ground near the Halifax and Tomoka rivers, with the flood history that goes with it.

The subdivisions along Nova, Granada and Airport Road. Woodmere, Tymber Creek, Ormond Lakes and Breakaway Trails: 1980s-to-2000s homes whose original equipment is now the question.

West of I-95. Hunter’s Ridge, Plantation Bay and the newer growth off SR 40, big houses, zoning questions, and some of our shortest drives, since this is the end of town closest to the shop.

Each of those has its own habits. A beachside call means a coil inspection whatever the reason for the visit; a Tomoka Oaks call means asking about the flood line before quoting a replacement; a west-side call often means a two-story house whose upstairs never quite catches up.

West Volusia on the same ticket

DeLand, the county seat with Stetson University, and the US 17 towns of De Leon Springs, Barberville, Pierson and Seville sit 22 to 35 miles west of Ormond Beach. They are a different world: well water with iron and sulfur, fern farms, older rural houses, and almost no Peoples Gas. We cover them from the same dispatch, with the drive stated plainly when you call, and each has its own page below.

Coverage questions

Is DeLand really within your range?

Yes. It’s about 30 miles west of Ormond Beach on SR 40 and US 17-92, which makes it a planned trip rather than a quick one. We group west-county calls so a DeLand visit isn’t a lone truck making a two-hour round trip.

Which way do your trucks come into the beachside?

Over the Granada Bridge for most of Ormond-by-the-Sea and the beachside neighborhoods, or down A1A from the north when the call is near the Flagler line. Dispatch picks based on where the truck already is.

Do you cover Holly Hill and Daytona Beach too?

The neighboring towns south of Ormond Beach, including Holly Hill, Daytona Beach and Port Orange, are on the same routes. Call and give the address; if we can get there in a reasonable window, we will.
